Good Canadian Capital is a mortgage investment corporation based in Ottawa, Ontario. Good Canadian Capital offers investors an opportunity to participate in a diversified  portfolio of high yield Canadian residential mortgages. Good Canadian Capital is primarily focused on residential real estate in Ontario in both urban and suburban markets. Our principles have decades of experience in mortgage underwriting, risk management and administration.

Steven Cleiri

Principle Broker

Steven Cleiri, CEO and Principal Broker has over 12 years experience in private wealth and mortgage lending and has grown up in the Ottawa region. Steven and his team have extensive experience assessing mortgages and communicating with qualified borrowers the importance of private financing, this trusted relationship with clients has given SJC Financial an edge in the Ottawa market and across Canada. The SJC Financial brokerage funds over 250 million in mortgage volume per year. SJC Financial has grown to over 30 agents across Canada and the brokerage has seen an increased demand from borrowers to access private funding.

Boasting a diverse team of over 50 agents nationwide, SJC Financial is witnessing an unprecedented surge in demand for private funding solutions. But beyond the boardroom, Steven’s interests extend far and wide, from mastering his golf swing on lush greens to cheering on his favorite hockey team with unbridled enthusiasm. So, whether he’s sinking putts on the golf course, cheering on his hockey team, or jet-setting to exotic locales, Steven Cleiri brings his signature passion and zest for life to everything he does. Accounts & Operations Manager

As the Accounts & Operations Manager at our investment fund, Vicky Argumedo brings a unique blend of precision and passion to the table. With her keen eye for detail and knack for problem-solving, Vicky ensures that every aspect of our fund’s operations runs seamlessly.

With years of experience in financial management and a knack for navigating complex investment landscapes, Vicky is the driving force behind our fund’s success. Whether it’s managing accounts, optimizing operational processes, or tackling challenges head-on, she’s always one step ahead.

When she’s not crunching numbers or optimizing workflows, you can find Vicky indulging her adventurous side. From spontaneous travel escapades to trying out the latest culinary trends, she believes in embracing life’s joys with open arms.

Greg Colby

Business Development Manager

Greg joined the financial services industry in 1993 as a Financial Advisor with Walwyn, Stodgel, Cochrane Murray (which went on to be Midland Walwyn, Merill Lynch and eventually CIBC). After achieving his CFP, insurance and eventually the CIWM designation Greg spent close to 30 years helping HNW families grow and protect their wealth by creating in depth, comprehensive Wealth and Estate Plans.

In 2019 Greg joined former CIBC colleague Steven Cleiri at SJC Financial as a Mortgage Agent and Business Development Manager, helping grow SJC Financial from 5 to 30 agents and growing from Ottawa to Niagara. Greg sits on the board of GCH. Outside the office Greg enjoys spending time with his family and friends. Greg is an outdoor enthusiast who enjoys skiing, hockey and running and has competed in many 10km races and half marathons in the Ottawa region.

Specializing in keeping the fund secure and organized, Travis is known for his strategic approach and unwavering professionalism.

Drawing upon his extensive experience in account management, Travis thrives on delivering tailored solutions that exceed client expectations. His meticulous attention to detail and proactive mindset ensure seamless execution of projects, earning him the trust and admiration of both colleagues and clients alike.

But beyond the boardroom, Travis is anything but ordinary. A self-proclaimed adventure seeker, you’ll often find him exploring the great outdoors, whether it’s hiking through rugged trails or hitting the slopes for a thrilling ski session.

The clients are typically real estate investors that purchase rental properties, self employed and newcomers to Canada. Our borrowers use our lending to achieve their real estate goals while we plan for their exit strategy. Our investment objective is to identify borrowers that are knowledgeable in real estate, have good credit and good income. We invest in first and second mortgages primarily in the Ottawa region. Ottawa is currently the most stable real estate market across the country. We have a strong understanding of the market in Ottawa.

Lorenzo Bonera

Board Member

 

Lorenzo’s practice specializes in the areas of real estate, commercial and wills and estates law. After completing a law degree from in Italy, Lorenzo obtained a Master of Laws from the Faculty of Law of the University of Toronto where he was the recipient of a fellowship in Capital Markets and a junior fellow at Massey College.

Lorenzo is an active member of his community and serves as an executive of the National Congress of Italian Canadians and as a member of the planning and development committee of the Wateridge Village Association. Lorenzo also served as an executive committee member of the Business Law Section of the Canadian Bar Association.

Outside the office, Lorenzo enjoys playing and watching rugby and discovering new wines.
